Saltines and Safety Pins

Due to constant Etsy browsing I tend to find a lot of junk but sometimes I will stumble across an entire store of jewels. Emily Elizabeth Jewelry is all diamonds. I want every single one of her peices and what is even greater is that she offers the ability to change chain length, upgrade to higher quality metals for chains as well as get pendants gold or silver dipped.

Her items are simple and have a child-like charm to them while still being sophisticated and eye-catching. Basically… exactly what I’m craving right now. Best of all her designs are ridiculously affordable!!

Below are a couple of my favorites.

GOLDEN SALTINE NECKLACE $24.00

18K GOLD PLATED SAFETY PIN $40.00

SKULL CUFFLINKS $19.00

USB HUBMAN (terribly cute!) $23.00

ringling by William Mak

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) at Fort Mason is a beautiful building filled with amazing exhibits and full-time installations. The museum store is filled with a variety of items, from jewelry to board games as well as ranging from $5 to $500. Below is a dish perfect for holding rings and jewelry on your bedside table. Perfect for the modern, minimalist girl, it also has a price tag that can not be refused. Designed by the Canadian designer William Mak, this item can be ordered on the SFMOMA Store website for people all over the world to enjoy!

RINGLING RING HOLDER $10.00

blitzkreig

At the risk of being completely repetitive I’m absolutely in love the the ‘duck egg’ color of the Keep Calm and Carry On WWII era poster. An obvious cult favorite, these are found adorning the walls of many design-obsessed individuals. I being one of the aforementioned demographic I want to find a large ridiculously ornate frame, paint in metallic silver so that my duck egg poster can be held safe in a silver square. You can fulfill all your other cult favorites from keep-calm.com, here, and help to perpetuate the feeling of WWII London from the comfort of your living room. For a more affordable (even though the blue poster is still a pretty cheap piece of art) version, visit the British independent bookstore Barter Books’ website for a replica of the original red version, here.

It’s not even funny…

My level of obsession with this cut out of California is far beyond normalcy or acceptability, but I can’t help myself. Shauna and Stephen of Something’s Hiding In Here are selling this glorious paint-my-number overhauls at their etsy shop (the link below the piece links to the shop). Even better is that you can order any state and it will be made custom made to order- North Dakotans do not despair! Now if only I could scrounge up $3,000 and a large empty wall, and have every state made…

I’m particular smitten with this version, with the wine glass:

The cypress tree edition is almost as fantastic. ALMOST.

“Monday Pick’s” of a certain modern wonderland will be up today around 4 PM central time. Today they are Tuesday Pick’s because I was still out of school yesterday and basking in the freedom. Now it’s back to work. Cheers!

obama, obama, obama

I find true beauty in the honesty and togetherness portrayed in this music video/montage. It is artistic and executed with simplicity and grace. I’m proud to support Obama, and though you may not agree, please watch the video because it shows that inspiration comes from everywhere.

stay healthy

A new face in the spirit of the flu season, and Mary Poppins (one of the best films of all time).

I realize that it looks a bit like “tony treasures” I’m off to a meeting but will fix that error and upload again afterwards.

Does anyone know how I can help to reduce the blurriness? Any suggestions for file type/color mode/resolution/etc.

xoxo

monday picks

Free shipping at fredflare.com using code ‘bubblegum’ ends tomorrow! For the momentous occasion I decided to take some of my favorites on the website right now and compile them. Of course… I want it all…

(starting from top, left to right)

RECIPE BOOK $19.95 NOSE CUPS $12 LOBSTER TONGS $20 PHOTOBOOTH NECKLACE $14
GLASSES $10 CAMERA RING $10
BEE NECKLACE $36 MAGIC STAPLER $8
RECIPE BOX $14 DISCO BALL $32

I’m hooked on Cath Kidston right now. I love her kitsch/country floral patterns mixed with preppy pops of color, stripes, and polka-dots. The photobooth necklace fits standard photobooth pictures and can be replaced whenever you’d like. The bee necklace is a perfect shade of old gold (almost brassy) and has a great length and size which you can see from the sample photo on FredFlare.com. The magic stapler not only has wow-factor for anyone who tries it out, but also helps save the planet by reducing waste of staples… and while you’re not saving the world by using less staples, you can take a work or study break to do your best John Travolta impression beneath your solar-powered disco ball!

Enjoy! xoxo

face painting

There are few things better then Caran d’Ache water-soluble pastels. Face painting never gets old no matter how old you are. You can find them at a bit of a discount at Dick Blick (where the link will lead you). I absolutely love Dick Blick and the ability to head in there when in Boston is an absolute treat. They are also sold at almost every art store so hit up your local art store if you’d like to save on shipping!

You have no idea what I would give for the 126 pastel pack!
